Taking irregular distribution of pollution and evaporation coefficient into consideration in determination of insulator surface leakage currents
(2016)Leakage currents flowing on the insulator surface depend on type and amount of the pollution accumulated on the surface. In this study, insulator leakage currents are simulated with the help of Ant Colony Algorithm (KKA). ... -
The excitation probabilities of Kα,β and Lα1,2 for some elements in 56≤Z≤68 at 59.54keV
(2016)The Kα,β and Lα1,2 excitation probabilities for some elements in 56≤Z≤68 at 59.54 ke V were obtained using a Si(Li) detector with a multichannel analyzer. It is the first time that the Kα,β and Lα1,2 excitation probabilities ... -
Study of absorption parameters around the K edge for selected compounds of Gd
(2016)The K shell absorption jump ratios, jump factors, effective atomic numbers, and electron densities were derived from the measured total mass attenuation coefficient using an energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer ... -
Fluorescence study on the interaction of human serum albumin with Butein in liposomes
(2016)The interaction of Butein with human serum albumin in L-egg lecithin phosphatidycholine (PC) liposome has been investigated by fluorescence and absorption spectroscopy. The results of the fluorescence measurement indicated ... -
The Duffin–Kemmer–Petiau equation (DKP) wavefunctions solutions according to the virial theorem for a spinless boson particle interacting with a potential V(r) krn
(2016)The Duffin–Kemmer–Petiau (DKP) equation is written for a spinless boson particle interacting with a potential V(r) krn. The written equation is redesigned for this potential according to the virial theorem. This equation ... -
Politics of existence in Beckett's endgame and waiting for godot: Yesterday as the only timeframe, and egocentric characters
(2016)The aesthetic and epistemological implications of time consciousness have been profoundly treated by Samuel Beckett throughout his writing for forty- five years. Time, in Beckett's two masterpieces Waiting for Godot and ... -
Analysis of photovoltaic behavior of Si-based junctions containing novel graphene oxide/nickel(II) phthalocyanine composite films
(2016)In this work, we have synthesized modified nickel(II) phthalocyanine containing graphene oxide. Our emphasis is given to understand the effect of doping on the photophysical behavior of semiconducting graphene oxide/nickel(II) ... -
Correlations for coumarin additive on the electrical and photocatalytic activity of TiO2 modified by thiourea
(2016)Doping of TiO2 was made with thiourea to introduce the C, N and S into the TiO2. In order to investigate the effect of coumarin additions, coumarin-doped TiO2 samples modified by thiourea were synthesized by the same method. ... -
Functionality of kumquat (Fortunella margarita) in the production of fruity ice cream
(2016)BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of kumquat (Fortunella margarita) on the quality characteristics of ice cream. Kumquat paste (KP) was added to an ice cream mix at four concentrations, 0 ... -
Inhibition of Reactive Gliosis in the Retina of Rats with Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetes under the Action of Hydrated C60 Fullerene
(2016)Reactive gliosis induced by metabolic disturbances and development of oxidative stress in the retina at diabetes mellitus is the key pathogenetic factor for the development of diabetic retinopathy. Fullerene C60 and some ... -
Total phenolic and vitamin C content and antiradical activity evaluation of traditionally consumed wild edible vegetables from Turkey
(2016)Cultivation of wild edible vegetables, traditionally used as food, should increase in agriculture, as they have valuable nutritional content and contain bioactive compounds. Notably, wild edible green vegetables play a ... -
Survey of wild food plants for human consumption in villages of Çatak (Van-Turkey)
(2016)This study aims to record accumulation of knowledge on plants which are used as food by native people of Çatak (Van, Turkey) that has a rich culture and a very natural environment. In addition, the medical uses of these ... -
Bio-oil production via catalytic pyrolysis of Anchusa azurea: Effects of operating conditions on product yields and chromatographic characterization
(2016)Pyrolysis of Anchusa azurea, a lignocellulosic gramineous plant, was carried out in a tubular, fixed-bed reactor in the presence of four catalysts (Ca(OH)2, Na2CO3, ZnCl2, Al2O3). The influences of pyrolysis parameters ... -
Characteristic diode parameters in thermally annealed Ni/p-InP contacts
(2016)The Ni/p-InP Schottky diodes (SDs) have been prepared by DC magnetron sputtering deposition. After the diode fabrication, they have been thermally annealed at 700 C for 1 min in N2 atmosphere. Then, the current-voltage ... -
A study on the estimating of sediment concentration with turbidity and acoustic backscatter signal for different sediment sizes
(2016)Turbidity and acoustic measurement are alternative indirect methods to determine sediment concentration. Acoustic Doppler velocimetry can be used to estimate suspended sediment concentration (SSC) with the signal-to-noise ... -
Hydroelectric Energy Potential of Turkey: A Refined Calculation Method
(2016)Turkey is one of the countries with high hydroelectric energy potential, but today only 35 % of this potential is functional. This is due to its geographic position at subtropical climate region with upstream of Euphrates–Tigris ... -
Surface coating of ZnO nanoparticles onto 6H-SiC(0001): Temperature-dependent rectifying behavior
(2016)This work reports on the detailed analysis of the temperature-dependent electrical parameters of the ZnO/6H-SiC barrier diodes. The effect of light on the diode current was also examined. It was found that the diode showed ... -
Investigating the addition of enzymes in gluten-free flours - The effect on pasting and textural properties
(2016)A wide range of enzymes (fungal amylase, esterase, hemicellulase, glucose oxidase and transglutaminase) were added to gluten-free flours (buckwheat, corn and rice) at different concentrations (0, 1, 3, 5, 10 g/100 kg flour) ...
