(2009)Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to emphasize the importance of the sources and means of communications that inform consumers about food risks. Another basic aim of this study is to identify certain effects of ... -
The synthesis and characterization of N,N′-[4,4′-{ethane-1,2- di-yl-bis(oxy)bis(4,l-phenylene)}bis(N′-hydroxy)-2-(hydroxyimino) -acetimidamide], (LH4) and its Binuclear complexes
(2009)A novel vic-dioxime ligand (LH4) and its transition metal complexes with Cu(AcO)2·H2O, Ni(AcO) 2·4H2O, Co(AcO)2·4H2O and Cd(AcO)2 metal salts were synthesized. l,2-Bis(p-aminophenoxy) ethane reacted with anti-chloroglyoxime ... -
A theoretical analysis together with experimental data of inhomogeneous Schottky barrier diodes
(2009)We have shown that the current at lower temperatures may exceed the current at higher temperatures using the approximation of the apparent BH in the inhomogeneous SDs, as determined by some authors in the literature. Then, ... -
Determination of organic fish purchase tendency of consumers: A case study for Hatay province, Turkey
(2009)Numerous studies have developed and validated models and instruments for consumer behaviours. However, cahractenstics of decision making still remain unknown. In this study, we attempted to investigate decision making ... -
Determining household preferences for fish consumption with conjoint analysis in Turkey
(2009)It is intended in this study to analyze household fish consumption preferences. Accordingly, the fish quality set and sales conditions that maximize consumer utility were determined. The study was conveyed in Hatay province ... -
Fruit performances of the selected fig types in Turkey
(2009)In this study, fruit performances of some types of fig (Ficus carica L.) were determined in Dara and Yardere villages of Mardin, Turkey. Seven fig types were evaluated in the study for two years. A lot of pomological ... -
Evaluation of durum wheat genotypes using parametric and nonparametric stability statistics
(2009)The development of genotypes, which can be adapted to a wide range of environments, is the one of the most important goal of plant breeders in a crop improvement program. In this study, 6 six stability measures consisting ... -
Effects of Nigella sativa L. on lipid peroxidation and reduced glutathione levels in erythrocytes of broiler chickens
(2009)We aimed to determine the effect of Nigella sativa L. on reduced glutathione (GSH) and lipid peroxidation (as malondialdehyde, MDA) in erythrocytes of broiler chickens. We used 100 Ross 308 chickens and they were equally ... -
Path analysis for yield and yield components in lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.)
(2009)This study was carried out to investigate relationships between yield and yield components by using a correlation and path coefficient analysis path coefficient in a population of 24 small seeded lentil varieties (Lens ... -
Assessing the effects of the neonicotinoid insecticide imidacloprid in the cholinergic synapses of the stellate cells of the mouse cochlear nucleus using whole-cell patch-clamp recording
(2010)Imidacloprid (IMI) is widely used systemic insecticide that acts as an agonist on nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs). IMI has been reported to be more active against insect nAChRs (EC50 0.86-1 μM) than it is against ... -
Non-linear models for growth curves of triticale plants under irrigation conditions
(2009)The present work aimed to model the growth curves of some triticale cultivars with respect to their dry weight-age relationships and to determine a suitable non-linear model explaining their growth curve. For this purpose ... -
The effects of ellagic acid on some biochemical parameters in the liver of rats against oxidative stress induced by aluminum [Alüminyum ile oksidatif strese maruz kalan sıçanların karaciǧerindeki bazı biyokimyasal parametreler üzerine ellagik asidin etkisi]
(2010)Antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic effects having Ellagic acid (2,3,7,8-tetrahidroksil [1] benzapiranol [5,4,3-CDE] [1] benzopiran-5, 10-dione) pomegranate, raspberry, strawberry, many fruits such as ... -
Analysis of dry matter accumulation using some mathematical growth models in silage and seed corns [Silajlık ve danelik mısırlarda kuru madde birikiminin bazı matematiksel büyüme modelleri ile analizi]
(2010)This study was carried out at Bahri Daǧdaş International Agricultural Research Institute's experimental areas. C 955 and DK 585 were used as material. Richards, Gaussian and Logistic growth models were used for describing ... -
Detection of american foulbrood disease (Paenibacillus larvae) by the PCR and culture [Amerikan yavru çürüklüǧü hastalıǧı etkeni (Paenibacillus larvae)'nin PCR ve kültür ile teşhisi]
(2010)American foulbrood (AFB) caused by Paenibacillus larvae is a bacterial disease in honey bee larvae that is observed worldwide. The aim of this study was to detect P. larvae in honey and beeswax samples from the suspected ... -
Estimation of suspended sediment concentration by acoustic equations for soil sediment
(2010)The acoustic backscattering systems, ABS, for sediment measurement are based on the determining of the backscattering and attenuation properties of the particles in suspension. The relevant acoustic quantities are the form ... -
Influence of interface states on the temperature dependence and current-voltage characteristics of Ni/p-InP Schottky diodes
(2010)The ideality factor n and the barrier height Φa p of the sputtered Ni/p-InP Schottky diodes have been calculated from their experimental Current-voltage (I - V) characteristics in the temperature range of 60-400 K with ... -
