Effect of short-term cypermethrin exposure on oxidant-antioxidant balance in the whole body of rainbow trout fry (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
(2011)The objective of this study was to investigate the propensity of cypermethrin (CYP) to induce whole body oxidative stress in rainbow trout following exposure. We investigated the effect of CYP (10%, 5%, 2% and 1% of the ... -
Fluorescence quenching of fluorescein by Merocyanine 540 in liposomes
(2011)The fluorescence quenching of fluorescein (FL) by merociyanine 540 (MC540) was examined in L-egg lecithin phosphatidycholine (PC) liposomes using spectroscopic methods. The type of quenching mechanism (dynamic or static) ... -
Cell wall modification in 1-methylcyclopropene-treated post-climacteric fresh-cut and intact papaya fruit
(2011)Papaya is a climacteric fruit in which ripening is greatly regulated by ethylene often associated with stress responses such as wounding. The changes in cell wall compositions in papaya fruit at an advanced stage of ripening ... -
Nematodes associated with pistachio in Sanliurfa, Turkey
(2011)The study was conducted to investigate nematodes associated with pistachio grown in Sanliurfa, located in the Southeastern Anatolian region, between 2003 and 2005. Current status of plant parasitic nematode groups, as well ... -
Electrochemical preparation and characterization of nickel and zinc-modified poly-2-aminothiazole films on mild steel surface and their corrosion inhibition performance
(2011)Poly-2-aminothiazole (pAT) was electrochemically synthesized on a mild steel (MS) specimen from 0.3 M aqueous ammonium oxalate solution containing 0.01 M 2-aminothiazole (2-AT) using cyclic voltammetry technique. The ... -
Some considerable effects on Pt/n-InP Schottky diode current-voltage characteristics due to electron irradiation
(2011)Schottky contacts have impact role in a large perspective of electronic devices from sensing to switching and detecting. Radiation applications of Schottky contacts are popular fields at the present day. We fabricated a ... -
Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) flower improves learning and memory performances impaired by diabetes mellitus in rats
(2011)Oxidative stress induced by diabetes mellitus leads to damages in the brain, as a consequence of which cognitive functions is impaired. Therefore, for the treatment of diabetes mellitus, in addition to antidiabetics, ... -
Evaluating of drought stress tolerance based on selection indices in Turkish bread wheat landraces
(2011)The objective of this study was to evaluate the ability of several selection indices to identify drought tolerant/resistant genotypes under different conditions of Konya. Thirty six bread wheat genotypes (twenty four pure ... -
Copper/polypyrrole multilayer coating for 7075 aluminum alloy protection
(2011)The corrosion behavior of 7075 aluminum (Al), copper modified Al (Al/Cu), polypyrrole modified Al (Al/PPy) and copper (under layer)/polypyrrole (top layer) modified Al (Al/Cu/PPy) samples were investigated in 3.5% NaCl ... -
