ABSTRACT: Increasing energy demand with the development of technology and the need for environmental awareness, which has become more important over time, increase the interest in renewable energy systems. In addition, the increase in the energy need per capita with the world population accelerates the spread of renewable energy sources. In this study, a portable solar tracking system that can track the sun on two axes is designed in order to benefit more efficiently from the sun, which is one of the important renewable energy sources. Before the design of the solar tracking system, a literature study was conducted on the subject and the theoretical background of the subject was examined. Two servo motors and one Arduino microprocessor are used to control the solar tracking system. Solar eye is designed with LDR resistors to instantly follow the sun. Thanks to the solar eye, the position of the sun can be followed precisely and the sun's rays are provided to reach the surface of the photovoltaic panels at a right angle. The performance of the designed solar tracking system was compared with the fixed solar system in different weather conditions. According to the results obtained, the dual axis solar tracking system produced 11% to 29% more energy depending on the weather conditions compared to the fixed system. It is predicted that the results obtained in this study will be useful in increasing the interest in solar tracking systems in solar systems to be established in the near future.
