Abstract

ABSTRACT: In this study, we aimed to obtain protein extracts of Hydrochara dichroma and Hydrophilus piceus from HYDROPHİLİNAE (COLEOPTERA: Hydrophilidae). The amount of protein obtained was calculated by Bradford method and the absorbance value of Hydrochara dichroma was 0.4144 mg, while the absorbance value of Hydrophilus piceus was 0.3411mg. as determined. Cell viability test was performed with WST-1 in prostate cancer line cells (PC3). When the test result was examined, it was observed that protein extracts caused decrease in cell inhibition in the two species studied. The highest cell inhibition was observed in samples with 1000 mg / ml insect protein extract added. Then the effective dose was found and protein products were examined by western blot technique. As a result of this study, we can say that the western blot technique has been shown to support the production of insect proteins that will enable cell death.
