Enhancement of invertase production by aspergillus niger OZ-3 using low-intensity static magnetic fields
(2013)The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of low-intensity static magnetic fields (SMFs) on invertase activity and growth on different newly identified molds. The most positive effect of SMFs on invertase activity ... -
Helminth fauna of Neurergus strauchii (Steindacher, 1888) (spotted newt) collected from Bingöl, Turkey
(2013)This study was conducted to investigate helminth parasites of spotted newt (Neurergus strauchii) in Bingöl Province in 2010. Twenty-seven spotted newts were collected from a stream in the vicinity of Soǧukpi{dotless}nar ... -
Influence of tip wear of piezoelectric ultrasonic scalers on root surface roughness at different working parameters. A profilometric and atomic force microscopy study
(2013)Roughness on tooth surfaces is reported to facilitate the reestablishment of microbial dental plaque. Hence, the main goal of dental scaling is to remove bacterial plaque and obtain smoother tooth surfaces. This study was ... -
Spectroscopic studies on the interaction of fluorescein and safranine T in PC liposomes
(2013)In this study, the fluorescence quenching of fluorescein by safranine T in liposome media had been investigated systematically by fluorescence spectroscopy, UV-vis absorption spectroscopy and fluorescence decay lifetime ... -

(2013)In this study, it was aimed to investigate the antioxidant and antihepatotoxic effect of hydoxyurea derivative 1,3,4-thiadiazoles on serum biochemical parameters (AST, ALT, LDH, urea, creatinine and total bilirubin) and ... -
Electrochemical preparation and characterization of C/Ni-NiIr composite electrodes as novel cathode materials for alkaline water electrolysis
(2013)The binary NiIr coatings as novel and effective catalysts were electrochemically prepared on a Ni-modified carbon felt electrode (C/Ni-NiIr) in view of their possible application as cathode materials for the alkaline water ... -
Assessment of radiological levels at schools in trabzon, turkey
(2013)In this study, a survey on environmental radioactivity in 16 high schools located in north eastern region of Turkey (the black sea region, province of Trabzon) was carried out. Indoor air radon (222Rn) concentrations were ... -
Dianthus vanensis (Caryophyllaceae), a new species from Turkey
(2013)Dianthus vanensis Behçet & İlçim is described as a new species. It is confined to Çatak District (Van) in Eastern Anatolia, Turkey. The diagnostic characters and taxonomic comments on the species are given. Notes are also ... -
Influence of deposition pressure (O2) on the YBCO (Y123) thin films prepared by pulsed laser deposition
(2013)In this paper, the influence of oxygen pressure on film quality and superconducting properties of YBa2Cu3O7−δ(YBCO-Y123) thin films prepared by Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) was investigated. For this purpose, YBCO thin ... -
Investigation of cytolethal distending toxin production and virulence genes in Campylobacter isolates from cattle
(2013)The prevalence of virulence and cytolethal distending toxin (Cdt) genes was investigated in isolates of Campylobacter jejuni, C. coli, C. lanienae and C. lari originated from intestinal contents and gall bladders of ... -
Antiproliferative activities of isolated flavone glycosides and fatty acids from Stachys byzantina
(2013)From the aerial parts of Stachys byzanthina C. Koch., a new flavone glycoside, was isolated for the first time in addition to known two flavone glycosides. Structures were established by conventional methods of analysis ... -
An approach for the integration of renewable distributed generation in hybrid DC/AC microgrids
(2013)This paper presents an investigation of a hybrid DC/AC integration paradigm to establish microgrids (MGs) by using a conventional three-phase local power delivery system. This approach adds an additional DC power line to ... -
B-N polymer embedded iron(0) nanoparticles as highly active and long lived catalyst in the dehydrogenation of ammonia borane
