Abstract

ABSTRACT: In this study, protein extraction of H. aquaticus and H. syriacus species of Helophorus(Coleptera: Helophoridae) was performed. Protein amounts were calculated by Bradford method and determined as 0.3514 mg/ml and 0.3878 mg/ml, respectively. These samples were then subjected to cell viability testing with WST-1 in cell culture PC3 (prostate cancer line) cells. It was observed that insect proteins in both species caused a decrease in cell inhibition. The highest cell inhibition was observed in samples with 1000 μg / ml insect protein extract added. After the effective dose was found, protein products which were gene products were examined by western blot technique. As a result, it was found that insect proteins supported the production of proteins that would cause cell death in western blot technique.
