Ekonomik Büyümenin Borsa Temelinde Finansal Gelişmişliğe Etkisi: ARDL Sınır Testi İle Bir Araştırma

Abstract

ÖZET: Bu çalışmanın amacı ekonomik büyümenin borsa temelinde finansal gelişmişliğe etkisini araştırmaktır. Ekonomik büyümeyi temsilen Gayrı Safi Yurtiçi Hasılanın logaritması, finansal gelişmişliği temsilen ise Borsa İstanbul fiyat ve hacim değişkenleri kullanılmıştır. GSYH’nin BIST fiyat ve hacmine etkisi belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Dolayısıyla toplam iki model oluşturulmuştur. Ekonomik büyümenin finansal gelişmeye etkisini araştırmak için dönem olarak, 2003:1 – 2018:1 dönemine ait çeyreklik veriler ve yöntem olarak ARDL sınır testi kullanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak büyümenin finansal gelişmişliğe etkisinin pozitif ve anlamlı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca Büyümenin borsanın işlem hacmine, fiyatına yaptığından daha fazla etki ettiği belirlenmiştir.

ABSTRACT: The aim of this study is to research the effect of exchange based economic increase into financial development. It was benefitted respectively from the variables of logarithm of national income on behalf of economic increase and from price and capacity variables of Istanbul Stock Exchange (BIST) on behalf of financial development. It was tried to determine the effect of national income to the price and capacity of BIST. Therefore, two models were created in total. To research the effect of economic increase to financial development, the quarterly data of the periods from 2003:1 to 2018:1 were analysed and ARDL bound testing was used as a method. As a result, the effect of growth on financial development was found to be positive and significant. It was also determined that the effect of economic increase plays a more effective role on the exchange capacity than the effect of exchange price.
