T: Modernization, while transforming social structures, is a process that profoundly affects an individual's perception of identity and cultural world. With the weakening of traditional ties, identity structures based on family, religion, and tradition have dissolved; individuals have been faced with the necessity of reconstructing their identities. This situation has paved the way for experiences such as alienation, othering, and identity crisis in the individual's inner world. This study examines the effects of the modernization process on the individual through the novels of Gaye Boralıoğlu, within the framework of the concepts of identity and alienation. Based on a qualitative research design and document analysis method, the study reveals that in Boralıoğlu's novels, identity is constructed not as a fixed structure but as a constantly transforming and fragile process; and alienation becomes visible through the ruptures in the individual's relationships with their body, space, and social memory. Furthermore, it is observed that the author addresses the internal conflicts and existential tensions of the modern individual with her unique language and narrative technique.en_US
