Erosion risk mapping of Capakcur stream watershed using geographical information system and remote sensing
(2015)Capakcur stream watershed located in the southwest of Bingol city, in Turkey, covers a 106 km2 area. The watershed with higher slope degrees faces severe soil erosion due to vegetation destruction, lithological and climate ... -
Palladium(II) complexes bearing bidentate pyridyl-sulfonamide ligands: Synthesis and catalytic applications
(2015)New palladium(II) complexes ([Pd(1-5)2], 6-10, (1-5 = bidentate pyridyl-sulfonamide ligands)) were obtained from the reaction between Pd(OAc)2 and bidentate pyridyl-sulfonamide ligands. The synthesized compounds were ... -
Capacitance-conductance-frequency characteristics of Au/Ni/n-GaN/undoped GaN Structures
(2015)Frequency-dependent capacitance (C) and conductance (G) characteristics of the Au/Ni/n-GaN/undoped GaN device have been investigated in the reverse bias voltage range of 0.00-0.40 V. The GaN films have been epitaxially ... -
Modularly evolved 2-aminodmap/squaramides as highly active bifunctional organocatalysts in Michael addition
(2015)We report a new family of chiral bifunctional acid/base type organocatalysts, 2-aminoDMAP/Squaramides, which are proved to be highly active (1 mol % cat. loading) promoters in conjugate addition of dibenzoylmethane to ... -
μ-acetato / μ-aqua bridged binuclear vic-dioxime complexes thermal, magnetic and spectral studies
(2015)A new amino vic-dioxime ligand, N,N′-[3,3′-{ethane-1,2-di-yl-bis(oxy)bis(3,1-phenylene)}bis(N′-hydroxy-)2-(hydroxyimino)-acetimidamide] (LH4) was synthesized by reaction of 1,2-bis(m-aminophenoxy)ethane and anti-chloroglyoxime. ... -
Determination of K-shell absorption jump factors and jump ratios for La2O3, Ce and Gd using two different methods
(2015)The K shell absorption jump factors and jump ratios for La2O3, Ce and Gd samples have been determined using the gamma or X-ray attenuation and EDXRF methods. It is the first time that the K shell absorption jump factor and ... -
Phytochemical screening, anticancer and antioxidant activities of Origanum vulgare L. ssp. viride (Boiss.) Hayek, a plant of traditional usage
(2015)BACKGROUND: A detailed phytochemical analysis of Origanum vulgare L. ssp. viride (Boiss.) Hayek was carried out and the antioxidant activities of five different crude extracts were determined. The antiproliferative activities ... -
The investigation on manufacturing time of a new type concave-convex gear by a CNC milling machine
(2015)In today’s studies, it is observed that spur gears can be manufactured by vertical-spindle CNC milling machines unlike conventional manufacturing methods. To this end, two different approaches have been developed, which ... -
Measurements of K shell absorption jump factors and jump ratios using EDXRF technique
(2015)In the present work, the K-shell absorption jump factors and jump ratios for 30 elements between Ti (Z = 22) and Er (Z = 68) were measured by energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) technique. The jump factors and ... -
Tribocorrosion properties of different type titanium alloys in simulated body fluid
(2015)Body fluids and relative motion between implant and bone lead to synergistic degradation reactions, which cause failed implantation or adverse tissue reactions for implant materials used in human body. Because of their ... -
Intracellular modulation of excited-state dynamics in a chromophore dyad: Differential enhancement of photocytotoxicity targeting cancer cells
(2015)The photosensitized generation of reactive oxygen species, and particularly of singlet oxygen [O2(a1Δg)], is the essence of photodynamic action exploited in photodynamic therapy. The ability to switch singlet oxygen ... -
Novel phthalocyanines containing resorcinol azo dyes; Synthesis, determination of pKa values, antioxidant, antibacterial and anticancer activity
(2015)There are many studies about effects on health of compounds having azo groups in literature. However, anticancer, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties of phthalocyanines containing azo dyes are unknown. Therefore, the ... -
Ethnobotanical study on medicinal plants in villages of Çatak (Van-Turkey)
(2015)Ethnopharmacological relevance This paper provides significant ethnobotanical information on medicinal plants in the villages of Çatak in the Eastern Anatolia Region. Recording such data calls for urgency. This is the first ... -
Evaluation of arsenic trioxide genotoxicity in wheat seedlings using oxidative system and RAPD assays
(2015)Arsenic is a metalloid that is toxic to living organisms. It is known that high concentration of arsenic causes toxic damage to cells and tissues of plants. While the toxic effect of arsenic is known, limited efforts have ... -
Health attributes of an endemic orchid from Eastern Anatolia, Dactylorhiza chuhensis Renz&Taub. - In vitro investigations
(2015)Abstract Phytochemical composition and potential health attributes of Dactylorhiza chuhensis Renz&Taub., an endemic orchid from Eastern Anatolia, were investigated. Lyophilized methanol-based extracts obtained from ... -
Memristive behavior in a junctionless flash memory cell
(2015)We report charge storage based memristive operation of a junctionless thin film flash memory cell when it is operated as a two terminal device by grounding the gate. Unlike memristors based on nanoionics, the presented ... -
Teachers’ opinions on the effectiveness of life science curriculum in values education
(2015)This research aims to investigate the opinions of classroom teachers on the significance level of values in Life Sciences Course Curriculum (LSCC) and the effect level of LSSC in acquisition of these values. Survey model ... -
Capacitance-conductance-current-voltage characteristics of atomic layer deposited Au/Ti/Al2O3/n-GaAs MIS structures
(2015)We have studied the admittance and current-voltage characteristics of the Au/Ti/Al2O3/n-GaAs structure. The Al2O3 layer of about 5 nm was formed on the n-GaAs by atomic layer deposition. The barrier height (BH) and ideality ... -
