Assessing the effects of the neonicotinoid insecticide imidacloprid in the cholinergic synapses of the stellate cells of the mouse cochlear nucleus using whole-cell patch-clamp recording
(2010)Imidacloprid (IMI) is widely used systemic insecticide that acts as an agonist on nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs). IMI has been reported to be more active against insect nAChRs (EC50 0.86-1 μM) than it is against ... -
Non-linear models for growth curves of triticale plants under irrigation conditions
(2009)The present work aimed to model the growth curves of some triticale cultivars with respect to their dry weight-age relationships and to determine a suitable non-linear model explaining their growth curve. For this purpose ... -

Analysis of dry matter accumulation using some mathematical growth models in silage and seed corns [Silajlık ve danelik mısırlarda kuru madde birikiminin bazı matematiksel büyüme modelleri ile analizi]
(2010)This study was carried out at Bahri Daǧdaş International Agricultural Research Institute's experimental areas. C 955 and DK 585 were used as material. Richards, Gaussian and Logistic growth models were used for describing ... -
Detection of american foulbrood disease (Paenibacillus larvae) by the PCR and culture [Amerikan yavru çürüklüǧü hastalıǧı etkeni (Paenibacillus larvae)'nin PCR ve kültür ile teşhisi]
(2010)American foulbrood (AFB) caused by Paenibacillus larvae is a bacterial disease in honey bee larvae that is observed worldwide. The aim of this study was to detect P. larvae in honey and beeswax samples from the suspected ... -
Estimation of suspended sediment concentration by acoustic equations for soil sediment
(2010)The acoustic backscattering systems, ABS, for sediment measurement are based on the determining of the backscattering and attenuation properties of the particles in suspension. The relevant acoustic quantities are the form ... -
Influence of interface states on the temperature dependence and current-voltage characteristics of Ni/p-InP Schottky diodes
(2010)The ideality factor n and the barrier height Φa p of the sputtered Ni/p-InP Schottky diodes have been calculated from their experimental Current-voltage (I - V) characteristics in the temperature range of 60-400 K with ... -
Optical and structural properties of CuO nanofilm: Its diode application
(2010)The high crystalline CuO nanofilms have been prepared by spin coating and annealing combined with a simple chemical method. The obtained films have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared ... -
Essential oil composition of two endemic Tanacetum (T. nitens (Boiss.&Noe) Grierson and T. argenteum (Lam.) Willd. subsp. argenteum) (Asteraceae) taxa, growing wild in Turkey
(2010)The genus Tanacetum includes some popular endemic species of the flora of Turkey, with important medicinal properties. Some members of this genus have traditionally been used in balsams, cosmetics, dyes, insecticides, ... -
Silicon MIS diodes with Cr 2 O 3 nanofilm: Optical, morphological/structural and electronic transport properties
(2010)In this work we report the optical, morphological and structural characterization and diode application of Cr 2 O 3 nanofilms grown on p-Si substrates by spin coating and annealing process. X-ray diffraction (XRD), non-contact ... -
Effects of maternal hyperhomocysteinemia induced by methionine intake on oxidative stress and apoptosis in pup rat brain
(2010)Maternal hyperhomocysteinemia is associated with a number of complications such as preeclampsia syndrome, thromboembolic events, repeated miscarriages, abruptio placentae, in utero fetal death, intrauterine fetal growth ... -
Corrosion behaviour of polyrhodanine coated copper electrode in 0.1 M H2SO4 solution
(2010)Electrochemical synthesis of polyrhodanine (pRh) on copper electrode surface was achieved using cyclic voltammetry technique in 0.01 M rhodanine containing 0.3 M ammonium oxalate solution. The surface morphology of polymer ... -
Grain yield and quality components of pure and mixed cropping of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and triticale (X Triticosecale Wittmack)
(2010)This research was carried out to determine the advantages of mixed cropping of bread wheat (BW) and triticale (T) compared to pure cropping, during three cropping years, under the East Mediterranean Region of Turkey. Bread ... -
Determination of Some physiological characters in forage plants
(2010)This study was conducted at research and experimental areas of Bahri Dag das International Agricultural Research Institute. For the experiment, 8 forage plants were used (all plants with a C3 type of photosynthesis and ... -
Yield and nutritive value of Anti-Taurus Mountain rangeland shrubs in Turkey
(2010)Shrubs provide the bulk of feed for goats in the Mediterranean agropastoral farming systems, yet quantitative data on productivity and nutritive value of highland shrubs species that is needed to develop rangeland management ... -
The efect of drought stress on grain yield, yield components and some quality traits of durum wheat (Triticum turgidum ssp. durum) cultivars
(2010)Drought, one of the environmental stresses, is the most signiicant factor restricting plant production in the majority of agricultural fields of the world. Wheat is generally grown on arid-agricultural ields. Drought oten ... -
