(2020)Kα, Kβ and total K X-ray fluorescence cross-sections, K shell fluorescence yields, Kβ/Kα X-ray intensity ratios, K to L shell vacancy transfer probabilities and Auger electrons emission ratios of some selected Mn and Ni ... -
Achillea biebersteinii extracts suppress angiogenesis and enhance sensitivity to 5-fluorouracil of human colon cancer cells via the PTEN/AKT/mTOR pathway in vitro
(2020)To investigate the antiproliferative, anti-angiogenic, and apoptotic effects of extracts of Achillea biebersteinii (ABE) and combined treatments of ABE with 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) on HT-29 cells. Methods: The effects of ... -
Micro-end milling of biomedical Tz54 magnesium alloy produced through powder metallurgy
(2020)In this study, micro machinability of Mg5Sn4Zn (TZ54) alloy produced by a hot-pressing process (one of the powder metallurgy methods) is investigated. For this purpose, micro-milling experiments were carried out, considering ... -
Application of three-phase partitioning to the purification and characterization of polyphenol oxidase from antioxidant rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L.)
(2020)Polyphenol oxidase (PPO) has been purified from the rosemary plant (Rosmarinus officinalis L.) through three-phase partitioning (TPP) and has been biochemically characterized. The optimized TPP consisted of 50% (w/v) ... -
Failure load prediction of adhesively bonded GFRP composite joints using artificial neural networks
(2020)There are different process parameters of bonding joints in the literature. The main objective of the paper was to investigate the effects of bonding angle, composite lay-up sequences and adherend thickness on failure load ... -
Zingerone attenuates vancomycin-induced hepatotoxicity in rats through regulation of oxidative stress, inflammation and apoptosis
(2020)Aim: Vancomycin (VCM) is a glycopeptide antibiotic widely used to treat serious infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and has been associated with some severe side effects such as hepatotoxicity ... -
Synthesis and photodiode properties of chalcone substituted metallo-phthalocyanine
(2020)In this study, we aimed to investigate the photodiode properties of the chalcone substituted-phthalocyanine complex due to the important physical properties of the phthalocyanine and chalcone compounds. For this purpose, ... -
Sterol Composition of Sponges, Cnidarians, Arthropods, Mollusks, and Echinoderms from the Deep Northwest Atlantic: A Comparison with Shallow Coastal Gulf of Mexico
(2020)Triterpenoid biosynthesis is generally anaerobic in bacteria and aerobic in Eukarya. The major class of triterpenoids in bacteria, the hopanoids, is different to that in Eukarya, the lanostanoids, and their 4,4,14-demethylated ... -
Three-dimensional modelling and morphometric investigation of computed tomography images of brown bear's (Ursus arctos) ossa cruris (Zeugopodium)
(2020)Background: This study was aimed to examine the detailed morphometrical and morphological characteristics of the bone by creating three-dimensional images through multidetector computed tomography images of ossa cruris in ... -
Quercetin, chrysin, caffeic acid and ferulic acid ameliorate cyclophosphamide-induced toxicities in SH-SY5Y cells
(2020)Clinical use of cyclophosphamide (CP) causes apoptosis-induced cell death in the immune system, liver, heart and kidneys. To prevent the cells against side effects of CP and its metabolites, increasing antioxidant defence ... -
A Case-Study of the Molecular Diagnosis of Echinococcus multilocularis in Wild Boar with Comments on its Public Health Significance in Turkey
(2020)Echinococcus multilocularis is a parasite species of zoonotic importance which can be fatal to humans and causes Alveolar Echinococcosis (AE). This report describes the development of a cyst from the liver of a wild boar ... -
Testing and improving type 1 error performance of Şen’s innovative trend analysis method
(2020)Recent Şen innovative trend analysis method (Şen_ITA) has high graphical visual ability in addition to quantitative trend identification analysis aspects. However, it is important to determine critical trend values as to ... -
Inhibition effect of rhodanines containing benzene moieties on pentose phosphate pathway enzymes and molecular docking
(2020)Recently, inhibition studies of pentose phosphate pathway (PPP) enzymes have come out as an encouraging approach for pharmacological intervention in a variety of disorders. For this purpose, the rhodanines (Ph-Rhs) containing ... -
A new subspecies of Ornithogalum malatyanum (Asparagaceae: Scilloideae) from eastern Anatolia, Turkey
(2020)Ornithogalum malatyanum subsp. aricakense is a new subspecies from Elazığ province in eastern Turkey, differing from the typical subspecies in its flat, broader leaves and longer inflorescence of slightly larger flower. A ... -
Plasminogen/plasmin affects expression of glycolysis regulator tigar and induces autophagy in lung adenocarcinoma a549 cells
(2020)Pericellular plasmin generation triggers apoptosis/anoikis in normal adherent cells. However, cancer cells are notoriously resistant to anoikis, enabling metastasis and new tumor growth beyond their original environment. ... -
Neuroprotective effect of chrysin on isoniazid-induced neurotoxicity via suppression of oxidative stress, inflammation and apoptosis in rats
(2020)Isoniazid (INH) is among the most important anti-tuberculosis agents widely prescribed. However, its clinical use is restricted due to its severe side effects associated with neurotoxicity. The aim of the present study was ... -
