Anti-Alzheimer, antidiabetic and antioxidant potential of Satureja cuneifolia and analysis of its phenolic contents by LC-MS/MS
(2020)Many chronic diseases such as diabetes and Alzheimer's disease are related to the type and quality of foods, which are consumed. Particularly, various plant origin products are stated as beneficial against such kind of ... -
Effects of recycled wastewater applications with different irrigation practices on the chemical properties of a vertisol
(2020)The soil degradation caused by the use of low-quality waters in agriculture may be restricted with reorganization of irrigation practices. Therefore, a 2-year study was conducted to determine the changes in chemical and ... -
Estimation of probabilistic hazard for Bingol province, Turkey
(2020)Due to the fact that Bingöl province is at the intersection of the North Anatolian Fault and the Eastern Anatolian Fault, the seismicity of the region is important. In this study, probabilistic seismic hazard analyzes ... -
The microstructure, degradation behavior and cytotoxicity effect of Mg–Sn–Zn alloys in vitro tests
(2020)In the present study, Mg5Sn–xZn (x = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 wt%) alloys in superior biocorrosion properties were produced successfully. A novel mixing technique which prevents contact of magnesium with oxygen has been applied ... -
Neuroprotective effect of rutin against colistin-induced oxidative stress, inflammation and apoptosis in rat brain associated with the CREB/BDNF expressions
(2020)The purpose of the current study was to examine the neuroprotective effect of rutin against colistin-induced neurotoxicity in rats. Thirty-five male Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into 5 groups. The control group ... -
Seed morphology using SEM techniques for identification of useful grasses in Dera Ghazi Khan, Pakistan
(2020)In recent study, 15 taxa of family Poaceae from Dera Ghazi Khan were investigated for morphological characterization of seeds. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was utilized to study morphological features of grass seeds. ... -
Protective effect of chrysin on cyclophosphamide-induced hepatotoxicity and nephrotoxicity via the inhibition of oxidative stress, inflammation, and apoptosis
(2020)Cyclophosphamide (CYP) is a chemotherapeutic agent used in the treatment of autoimmune disorders and malignant diseases. However, its usage is restricted due to its severe side effects, especially hepatotoxicity and ... -
Improving the accuracy using pre-trained word embeddings on deep neural networks for Turkish text classification
(2020)Today, extreme amounts of data are produced, and this is commonly referred to as Big Data. A significant amount of big data is composed of textual data, and as such, text processing has correspondingly increased in its ... -
The effects of temperature and frequency changes on the electrical characteristics of hot-injected Cu2MnSnS4 chalcogenide-based heterojunction
(2020)Cu2MnSnS4 chalcogenide was obtained with the help of hot-injection technique and used as an interfacial thin layer to examine its behavior under varying temperature and frequency conditions. The well-known XRD, SEM and EDX ... -
In vitro effects of some antibiotics on glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase from rat (Rattus norvegicus) erythrocyte
(2020)Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) plays a key function in various biochemical processes as they produce reducing power of the cell. Thus, metabolic reprogramming of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide homeostasis is ... -
Cyber-security on smart grid: Threats and potential solutions
(2020)The smart grid is one of the most significant applications of the Internet of Things (IoT). As information and communication technologies (ICT) developed and applied in traditional power systems, the improvement of smart ... -
Synthesis and optical properties of uranium-doped cadmium oxide synthesized by sol-gel method
(2020)Optical properties of cadmium oxide and uranium-doped CdO thin films synthesized by the sol-gel technique were investigated. The structural properties of the films were investigated using X-ray diffraction patterns of ... -
Bi-slant submersions in complex geometry
(2020)In this paper, we introduce bi-slant submersions from almost Hermitian manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds as a generalization of invariant, anti-invariant, semi-invariant, slant, semi-slant and hemi-slant Riemannian ... -
Control of transplant height in tomato using plant growth regulator prohexadione calcium
(2020)The role of plant growth regulators has become important in modulating physiological responses that will eventually lead to producing high quality seedlings. The objective of the current experiment was to investigate the ... -
Ameliorative effects of some priming treatments on germination and emergence of lettuce seeds under high temperature conditions
(2020)The maximum temperature range for lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) germination is 25 to 30°C. Temperatures above this optimum range inhibit germination of imbibed lettuce seed and causes non-uniform stand establishment. One of ... -
Gamma shielding and compressive strength analyses of polyester composites reinforced with zinc: an experiment, theoretical, and simulation based study
(2020)The preparation of materials with high attenuation performance is one of the major issues in the radiation shielding applications. This study is based on the investigation of gamma-shielding performances of various polyester ... -
Potential of pistachio shell biochar and dicalcium phosphate combination to reduce Pb speciation in spinach, improved soil enzymatic activities, plant nutritional quality, and antioxidant defense system
(2020)Lead-contaminated soils are becoming an ecological risk to the environment because of producing low-quality food which is directly causing critical health issues in humans and animals. We hypothesized that incorporation ... -
Mechanical characteristics of self-compacting mortars with raw and expanded vermiculite as partial cement replacement at elevated temperatures
(2020)In this study, the effects of raw vermiculite (RVM) and expanded vermiculite (EVM) on the durability and mechanical characteristics of self-compacting mortars (SCMs) at ambient and elevated temperature were investigated. ... -
Recent advances and applications in LC-HRMS for food and plant natural products: a critical review
(2020)In the last decade, interest in food and plant natural products (FPNPs) has been growing due to their medical applications. Liquid chromatography-high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS) is the key to obtaining pure ... -
Inhibition effects of some pesticides and heavy metals on carbonic anhydrase enzyme activity purified from horse mackerel (Trachurus trachurus) gill tissues
(2020)The gill tissue is the main site of metabolic enzymes or compensation, with the kidney tissue playing a supporting role. At the gill tissue, carbonic anhydrase enzymes (CAs) catalyze the hydration of CO2 to HCO3 − and H+ ...
