Oleylamine-Stabilized Copper(0) Nanoparticles: An Efficient and Low-Cost Catalyst for the Dehydrogenation of Dimethylamine Borane
(2017)Copper(0) nanoparticles, in situ generated from the reduction of copper(II) 2-ethylhexanoate during the dehydrogenation of dimethylamine borane (DMAB) at 50.0±0.1 °C in toluene solution, are active catalysts in hydrogen ... -
α-Amylase from bacillus simplex- production, characterization & partial purification
(2017)In this study, some bacteria were isolated from the soil obtained from Ergani Makam Mountain. The isolated bacteria were defined as Bacillus simplex with the biochemical tests and 16S rRNA analysis. The optimum conditions ... -
Taxonomic revision of the genus trigonosciadium (Apiaceae) in Turkey
(2017)A revision of the species of Trigonosciadium occurring in Turkey is presented. Four species are recognised, of which T. tuberosum is rediscovered in Turkey after 1887 and T. lasiocarpum is accepted as the correct name for ... -
Determination of the Suitability of Some American grapevine rootstocks as a new edible landscape component of vertical gardens
(2017)In this study, grapevine was used as the research material. This plant which epitomizes the opinion that vertical gardens can have a positive influence on human psychology with their beautiful view, e.g., the hanging gardens ... -
Effects of a Propolis Extract on the Viability of and Levels of Cytoskeletal and Regulatory Proteins in Rat Brain Astrocytes: an In Vitro Study
(2017)A potential for the use of propolis in preventive and therapeutic purposes has been acknowledged, but little attention has been paid to estimation of possible propolis cytotoxicity with respect to astrocytes. We tried to ... -
An experimental study of different curing regimes on the mechanical properties and sorptivity of self-compacting mortars with fly ash and silica fume
(2017)This paper aims to investigate the effect of four different curing regimes namely; tap water curing (WC), wet sack curing (WSC), air curing (AC), and liquid paraffin wax curing (LPWC) and different curing times (3, 7, 28, ... -
Computational investigation of combustion and emission characteristics of toluene reference fuel (TRF) mixtures in an HCCI engine using stochastic reactor model
(2017)In this study, a homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) engine was fueled with primary reference fuel (PRF) and toluene mixture using a zero-dimensional simulation code called stochastic reactor model (SRM) for ... -
Neuroprotective Effect of Curcumin on LPS-activated Astrocytes Is Related to the Prevention of GFAP and NF-κB Upregulation
(2017)We examined the effects of 2.0 μM curcumin, a known antioxidant, on the cultures of normal rat astrocytes and of those subjected to the action of 0.01 μM lipopolysaccharide, LPS. As was found, 24-h-long exposure of astrocytes ... -
Series resistance and interface states effects on the C–V and G/w–V characteristics in Au/(Co3O4-doped PVA)/n-Si structures at room temperature
(2017)Microwave-assisted method has been used for preparation of Co3O4 nanopowders. Then, Co3O4–doped polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) composites are deposited on n-Si wafer using spin coating method. The main electrical parameters of ... -
Effect of sea water and MgSO4 solution on the mechanical properties and durability of self-compacting mortars with fly ash/silica fume
(2017)This experimental study was carried out to investigate the mechanical properties of self-compacting mortars (SCMs) containing binary and ternary mixtures of silica fume (SF) and fly ash (FA) immersed in sea water and 10% ... -
Biocatalytic Synthesis of a Novel Polyaniline Derivative and Its Usage for Polypropylene Stabilization
(2017)The synthesis, characterization, and some physical properties of a new polyaniline derivative (PHCA), produced by horseradish peroxidase (HRP) initiated oxidative polymerization of 2-hydroxy-5-chloroaniline (HCA), are ... -
Gold-supported activated NiZn coatings: hydrogen evolution and corrosion studies
(2017)Gold-supported Raney-type NiZn coatings were prepared on a thin Ni film-modified copper substrate (Cu/Ni/NiZn-Au). The hydrogen evolution activity, time stability and corrosion behaviour of the electrode was investigated ... -
The Investigation of Current-Conduction Mechanisms of Te/NaF:CdS/SnO2 Structure in Wide Temperature Range of 80–400 K
(2017)In order to interpret the current-conduction mechanisms of the Te/NaF:CdS/SnO2 structure, current–voltage (I–V) measurements were carried out in the temperature range of 80–400 K. Experimental results show that the main ... -
Analysis of photoconductive mechanisms of organic-on-inorganic photodiodes
(2017)In this work, it is shown that choosing an organic-on-inorganic Schottky diode for photoconductive sensing by a using a power law exponent (PLE or γ) determined at a single bias point is a limited approach. The standard ... -
The structural analysis of MWCNT-SiO2 and electrical properties on device application
(2017)Al/MWCNT-SiO2/p-Si device were obtained using chemical techniques and characterized using the I-V (under dark and light conditions) and C-V measurements depending on various frequency. MWCNT-SiO2 composite layer of the ... -
The effects of (graphene doped-PVA) interlayer on the determinative electrical parameters of the Au/n-Si (MS) structures at room temperature
(2017)Au/n-Si(MS) and Au/(0.07graphene-PVA)/n-Si(MPS) structures were fabricated on the same wafer at identical conditions and their electrical characteristics have been investigated by using current–voltage (I–V) and ... -
Influence of ground pumice powder on the bond behavior of reinforcement and mechanical properties of self-compacting mortars
(2017)The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of the bond strength of self-compacting mortars (SCMS) produced from ground pumice powder (GPP) as a mineral additive. In this scope, six series of mortars including control ... -
Conformal Semi-Invariant Submersions from Almost Product Riemannian Manifolds
(2017)As a generalization of semi-invariant submersions, we introduce conformal semi-invariant submersions from almost product Riemannian manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds. We give examples, and investigate the geometry of ... -
