Essential Oils of Three Ziziphora L. Taxa from Turkey and Their Chemotaxonomy
(2013)The essential oil aerial parts of Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam., Z. persica Bunge and Z. tenuior L. were investigated by GC and GC-MS. The yield of oils are ca. 0.30, 0.35 and 0.40 mL/100 g, respectively. Thirty seven, ... -
Segmentation of SAR images using improved artificial bee colony algorithm and neutrosophic set
(2014)This paper proposes a novel synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image segmentation algorithm based on the neutrosophic set (NS) and improved artificial bee colony (I-ABC) algorithm. In this algorithm, threshold value estimation ... -
Designing an Intracellular Fluorescent Probe for Glutathione: Two Modulation Sites for Selective Signal Transduction
(2014)A selective probe for glutathione was designed and synthesized. The design incorporates spatial and photophysical constraints for the maximal emission signal. Thus, pHs, as well as the intracellular thiol concentrations, ... -
Essential Oil Composition of Two Sideritis L. Taxa from Turkey: A Chemotaxonomic Approach
(2014)In this study two Sideritis L. taxa from Turkey (Sideritis montana L. subsp. montana and Sideritis vulcanica Hub.-Mor.) have been studied to determine taxonomical classification based on chemical characters. For this purpose ... -
Effects of Lamotrigine and Topiramate on Brain Maturation and Cognitive Functions in Offspring of Pregnant Rats - Preliminary Study
(2014)Background. Antiepileptic drugs (AED) which are used to treat seizures in pregnant women, infants, and young children may cause cognitive impairment or other uncertain injury. However, the precise mechanisms responsible ... -
Purification and characterization of NADPH-cytochrome P450 reductase from Lake Van fish liver microsomes and investigation of some chemical and metals' effects on the enzyme activity
(2015)NADPH-cytochrome P450 reductase was purified from Lake Van fish liver microsomes by primary and secondary DEAE-cellulose column chromatograph with 20.46 mu M/min/mg enzyme specific activities, 54.4\% purification yield, ... -
Calculation of surface leakage currents on high voltage insulators by ant colony algorithm-supported FEM
(2015)The weakness of the outer insulation at high voltages is the reduction of the surface resistance as a result of the environmental pollution yielding formation of flashover due to the surface leakage currents. In this study, ... -
In Vitro Elimination of PPV from Infected Apricot Shoot Tips via Chemotherapy and Cryotherapy
(2015)Plum pox potyvirus (PPV) is the most serious viral disease of stone fruits of Prunus sp. and elimination of the virus could be achieved by using in vitro-applied techniques. Thus, the potential of usage of thermotherapy, ... -
Determining Erosion Status in Vahkin Stream by Using Weighted Superimposed
(2015)The study was set to analyze to erosion status of Vahkin Stream Watershed. Vahkin stream gathers waters of the watershed located in the south of Bingol. Vahkin merges with Murat River in Genc lowland. The elevation and ... -
Psephellus vanensis (Asteraceae), a new species from east Turkey
(2015)A new species, Psephellus vanensis A.Duran, Behcet \& B.Dogan (Asteraceae) from Anatolia, Turkey, is described and illustrated. The species grows on the serpentine stony field of the village of caldiran in the district of ... -
Aristolochia altanii (Aristolochiaceae), a new species from Turkey
(2015)Aristolochia altanii Ilcim \& Behcet sp. nov. is described from Turkey and illustrated. The specimens were collected from Kahramanmaras in South Anatolia. The new species is closely related to A. guichardii and A. brevilabris. ... -
Hyers-Ulam-Rassias Stability for a First Order Functional Differential Equation
(2015)In this paper, by using the fixed point method, we prove two new results on the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias and the Hyers-Ulam stability for the first order delay differential equation of the form y'(t) = F(t, y(t), y(t - tau)). Our ... -
Golden maps between Golden Riemannian manifolds and constancy of certain maps
(2014)We first introduce Golden maps between Golden Riemannian manifolds, give an example and show that such map is harmonic. Then we investigate the constancy of certain maps from Golden Riemannian manifolds to various manifolds ... -
A compendium of expression patterns of cholesterol biosynthetic enzymes in the mouse embryo
(2015)Cholesterol and its biosynthetic pathway intermediates and derivatives are required for many developmental processes including membrane biogenesis, transmembrane receptor signaling, steroid biogenesis, nuclear receptor ... -
Description of Paratylenchus (Gracilacus) straeleni (De Coninck, 1931) Oostenbrink, 1960 (Nematoda: Criconematoidea, Tylenchulidae) from hazelnut in Turkey and its comparison with other world populations
(2015)Paratylenchus (Gracilacus) straeleni (De Coninck, 1931) Oostenbrink, 1960 was detected for the first time in Turkey. Our studied population was found in the rhizosphere soil of hazelnut orchards in Ordu. Females and males ... -
Memristive behavior in a junctionless flash memory cell
(2015)We report charge storage based memristive operation of a junctionless thin film flash memory cell when it is operated as a two terminal device by grounding the gate. Unlike memristors based on nanoionics, the presented ... -
Tuning of Optimal Classical and Fractional Order PID Parameters forAutomatic Generation Control Based on the Bacterial Swarm Optimization
(2015)Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm converges rapidly during the initial stage of a global search, but around global optimum, the search process slows down. In order to overcome this problem and to further enhance the ... -
