ATATÜRK DÖNEMİNDE EĞİTİM ALANINDA YAPILAN YENİLİKLER VE KÜTÜPHANELERİN GELİŞİMİ (1923-1938)

Abstract

Çalışmada 1923– 1938 yılları arasındaki dönemin sosyal ve kültürel değişim anlayışının temel ilke ve amaçları çerçevesinde kütüphaneler incelenmektedir. Bunun yanında yaşanan değişimin işlev ve kurum olarak kütüphanelere yansımaları ele alınacaktır. Çalışmanın bulgularına göre cumhuriyet dönemindeki kültürel ve sosyal gelişim, meşrutiyet dönemlerinden bu yana alt yapısı oluşan gerek siyasi ve sosyal olaylardan, gerekse yerel ve uluslararası fikirlerden etkilenmiş ve beslenmiştir. Bu bağlamda, Cumhuriyet Türkiye’sinde sosyal - kültürel ve eğitim alanlarında gerçekleşen bazı önemli gelişmelerden bahsedilerek, gelişmelerin kütüphanelerin toplumsal ilerleme sürecine ne şekilde katkıda bulunduğu irdelenecektir. Bu nedenle Cumhuriyetin kuruluş yılından başlayarak 1938 yılına kadar sosyal ve kültürel bağlamda alınan kararların ve hayata geçirilen uygulamaların eski ve yeni kütüphanelerin değişiminde ve gelişiminde ne gibi etkilerinin olduğu sorusuna cevap aranmaktadır. Araştırmada izlenen yöntem tarihsel yöntemdir. Geçmişte yaşanan olayların durumu ve bu olayların mevcut durum üzerine etkileri incelenerek analiz edilmiş ve sonuca varılmıştır. Araştırma konusuyla ilgili birincil ve ikincil kaynaklardan faydalanarak ilgili veriler toplanmıştır. Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclisi, Milli Kütüphane, Türk Tarih kurumu, Türk Dil Kurumu ve Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu vb. gibi kurumların yayınları ile dönemin gazete ve dergilerinden yararlanılmıştır.

According to the findings of the study, cultural and social development in the republic period has been influenced and nurtured by both political and social events that have been formed since the constitutional periods, as well as local and international ideas. In this context, the Republic of Turkey in social - cultural and mentioning some of the important developments taking place in the field of education, the development of libraries in the social progress that will be discussed in what way to contribute. For this reason, it is sought to answer the question of the effects of the decisions and implementations taken in the social and cultural context starting from the foundation year of the Republic until 1938 in the change and development of old and new libraries.The method followed in the research is the historical method. The situation of past events and the effects of these events on the current situation are analyzed and concluded. Data were collected by using primary and secondary sources.
