Growing demand for energy increases the importance of renewable energy sources every day. In renewable energy sources, solar energy has an important place. Studies related to increasing the efficiency of the PV panels have gained great importance in recent years. Studies related maximum power point tracking (MPPT) techniques are also included in this study. Large number of studies have been made regarding techniques MPPT and large numbers of MPPT techniques has been used. In this study, MATLAB / Simulink simulations have been carried out and the most important MPPT techniques have been analyzed. PV panel, dc/dc buck-boost converter and MPPT block were modeled in Matlab / Simulink. Insolation and temperature values in order to perform the simulation for rapid environmental changes have been entered to PV panels. Simulations were performed for each MPPT method and the simulation results were compared. © 2015 IEEE.
