Liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry for the analysis of bioactive natural products

Abstract

The interest in bioactive natural products (BNPs) has been growing. The number of analytical methods for the analysis of BNPs has been increasing. Liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS) is a unique bio-analytical tool for the analysis of BNPs. Herein, the chromatographic applications based on LC-HRMS to analyze bioactive natural products are described. In addition, we present a critical discussion of the advantages of LC-HRMS and its future potential leading to interesting structural information in the analysis of BNPs as well as newly offers perspectives and insights in numerous branches of life sciences. © 2020 Elsevier B.V.
