Consumer Consumption Habits of Milk and Milk Products in Bingol Province
Özet
This study was done to determine the consumer characteristics that are
thought to be effective on the consumption of milk and dairy products
and to determine the taste, preferences and habits which are influential
on the purchasing and consumption of consumers in Bingol. The material
of the study was horizontal cross-sectional data collected from
face-to-face interview from individuals residing in the city center of
Bingol province. According to research findings, monthly average income
of consumers was 3647.47 TL, monthly food expenditure was 1038.68 TL and
monthly total milk and milk products expenditure was 195.47 TL. The
share of monthly food expenditure in monthly income was 28.4\%, the
share of monthly total milk and dairy products in monthly income was
5.35\% and the share of monthly total milk and dairy products in monthly
food expenditure was 18.8\%. It was determined that all of the surveyed
consumers consume all milk types and milk products. Results indicated
that consumers' consumption habits of milk and dairy products can be
affected by many factors such as education, income, age and sex.
Decision makers have benefited in the milk and dairy production and
consumption stage consumers in Bingol city center to take into account
of the characteristics such as income, gender, education, age and number
of individuals in the family.
