Şiddet olgusu sosyal bilimler literatüründe ağırlıklı olarak devlet şiddeti ya da toplumsal değişim ekseninde ele alınmış olsa da şiddetin farklı türlerine olan bilimsel ilgi son senelerde giderek artmaktadır. Gündelik hayat içerisinde şiddetin ortaya çıktığı alanlardan biri de sağlık sektörüdür. Koronavirüs kaynaklı pandemi sürecinde sağlık çalışanlarının çalışma hayatında gösterdikleri mesleki özveri toplumun büyük kesimi tarafından takdirle karşılansa da bu süreçte sağlık çalışanlarına yönelik pek çok farklı şiddet olgusu hala yaşanmaya devam etmektedir. Sosyolojinin ihmal edilmiş alt disiplinlerinden biri olan sağlık sosyolojisi alanındaki bu çalışmanın amacı, sağlık çalışanlarına yönelik şiddeti sosyolojik boyutlarıyla analiz etmektir. Nitel araştırma olarak tasarlanan çalışmanın uygulama kısmı Bingöl ilinde ve Elazığ illerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bingöl ve Elazığ’da çalışan farklı birimlerdeki sağlık çalışanları ile yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği aracılığıyla toplamda 38 kişiyle elde edilen veriler MAXQDA programında analiz edilmiştir. Amaçlı ve kartopu örneklem teknikleri tercih edilmiştir. Ayrıca elde edilen verilerden yola çıkarak, bu sorunun çözümü konusunda uygulanabilir bir takım çözüm önerilerinde bulunulmuştur.

ABSTRACT Title of the Thesis: SOCIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF VIOLENCE IN THE HEALTHCARE FIELD: THE EXAMPLE OF BİNGÖL AND ELAZIĞ Author : Nizamettin AVANOZ Supervisor : Prof. Dr. Mehmet ANIK Department : Sociology Department Sub-field : Date : It is important to analyse violence, which is one of phenomena that we encounter with its different forms in the different parts of daily life, within the framework of sociology, which is a social science that emerged with the claim of analysing social phenomena, identifying the problems related to these phenomena and finding solutions to eliminate these problems. Although the phenomenon of violence has been mostly addressed in social sciences within the axis of state violence or social change, scientific interest in different types of violence has been increasing in recent years. One of the fields where violence occurs in daily life is the healthcare field. Although the professional devotion shown by healthcare professionals in their working life during the pandemic process caused by Covid-19 is appreciated by the majority of the society, many different cases of violence against healthcare professionals still continue to occur. The aim of this study in the field of medical sociology, which is one of the usually-ignored sub-disciplines of sociology, is to analyse the violence against healthcare workers with its sociological dimensions. The fieldwork of this study designed as a qualitative research carried out in Bingöl and Elazığ. The absence of any previous study on this subject in these two cities increases the original value of this study. The data of the study is obtained through semi-structured interviews with healthcare professionals in the different health units in the two cities aforementioned. It is aimed to contribute to the relevant scientific literature on this subject by analysing the this data. In addition, after the analysis of the obtained data, it is also aimed to suggest a number of applicable solutions to eliminate this problem.
