A new species discovered in Turkey, Campanula baskilensis Behçet sp. nov. (Campanulaceae), is described as a species confined to B7 Elazığ, Baskil in east Anatolia. It grows as a chasmophyte on calcareous rocks. The diagnostic morphological characteristics of C. yildirimlii and C. oligosperma, including palynological and seed epidermal characters as observed by SEM, are discussed and notes on the ecology and conservation status of the new species are presented. A distribution map of the new and related species is also provided. The most unusual feature of C. baskilensis is the opening mechanism of its capsule which has 10 valves that split from the base to near the apex of the capsule. © 2018 The Authors
