Abstract
Rapid growth of broilers provides advantage for the breeders, but the rapid growth means more feed consumption. Therefore more feed consumption means more oxygen consumption. These two factors affect each other adversely. As a consequence some symptoms emerge. One of these symptoms is Ascites is a sypmtom that occures in the young and rapid growing chickens after 5-7 weeks and shows indications by dropsy in chest and abdomen. Asites causes serious problems in the world broiler industry. There are various reasons of ascites which is a metabolic syndrome. Especially factors such as high altitude, poor ventilation, and nutritional are effective. This syndrome is observed especially in the regions located at a height of 1300 m or more above sea level. Sometimes rates of deaths rise to % 30 due to the ascites. It is crucial to take measures to protect from Ascites in breeding. In this study, we will try to give information about formation processes of asites and analysis of their causes, their relationship with nutrition, their effects on the lungs, their clinical findings, and information about protection from ascites.
