dc.description.abstract | Nuclear energy is the energy in the nucleus, or core, of an atom. This energy can be released as heat from a chain reaction in a radioactive element such as uranium. Although Turkey has rich uranium reserves, Turkey has had plans for establishing nuclear power generation since the early 1960s. Today, plans for nuclear power are a key aspect of the country's aim for economic growth. In this study, nuclear energy current situation in Turkey is examined in terms of its scientific, social and economic aspects. Does that mean strength for a country to have a nuclear power plants? What does society think about nuclear power plants? Based on these two questions, the necessity of nuclear energy in a country is questioned and is examined whether is social benefits. It is discussed taking into account the effects on the environment of nuclear power plants and is presented solutions for it. | tr_TR |
