dc.description.abstractThe effects of N doses (0, 40, 80, and 120 kg ha-1) and irrigation levels (100%, 75%, 50% and 25% of the required irrigation level) on nutrient homeostasis of peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) were investigated with a two-year field experiment. Nitrogen doses positively affected the mineral composition of peanut while the effect of irrigation levels was non-significant. Moderate N dose and water application overcome the nutrient deficiencies and satisfied the crop needs. Splitted application of N was more efficient as compared to the other treatments. Required irrigation water was calculated by Class A evaporation levels. Partial irrigation level (25% of the required irrigation level) was the most suitable irrigation level for peanut in the Harran conditions. Decline in irrigation water level increased the micronutrient content of leaves at low nitrogen doses. The results from nitrogen and irrigation experiments suggested that fertilizer efficiency can be improved by appropriate macro and micronutrient and water application.
