This study was conducted to figure out the effects of pleasure, preferences and habits of consumers in
the central province of Bingol. Of household’s living in the central province in Bingol, the level of income, food
expenditures, decision-making and buying process were discussed. To achieve this purpose, the data was
obtained by questionnaire from 384 households, and sample size of was determined with Unclustered
Probability Sampling Method. In the results obtained from this study, average monthly egg consumption per
family and per person were 61.6 and 146.3, respectively. According to the survey, 44.1% of the consumers
purchased eggs twice a week while 27.8% of them purchasing once a month. In terms of color preference, 36.8
and 20% of consumer preferred white eggs and brown eggs by respectively. On the other hand, the egg
percentages used up by consumer in breakfast, paid attention egg size and egg preferred from market were 88,
69.3 and 77.3%, respectively.
As a result, it could be said that it is very important to revise production model by taking account
consumer demand to increase egg consumption.
